DIY Wine Glasses!

The long awaited tutorial for the DIY wine glasses! Needs no introduction so here it is!

What you will need:
       * Clear wine glass
       * Print out of design to be added to glass
       * Sharpie PAINT marker or DecoArt glass paint marker {we used both          because the colors we wanted didn't come in both brands}
       * Tape

 {This can be found at JoAnn's, I have used other markers that are only meant for glass and none of them compare to this one! The black ink comes out the brightest and thickest on the first stroke. Others I have had to go over AT LEAST two to three times!!}

Now take your print out and tape on the INSIDE of your wine glass . . . And then TRACE it!

Now if you use any different type of paint or paint marker be sure to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on curing times for the paints! Every single one is different than the other! With the DecoArt marker you need to bake the glass for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, but some you must let dry for 24 hours first and some of them the temperature is not as high! So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read them. Because this will determine if your glass will be dishwasher safe!

{Sidenote: They all say that curing them will make them dishwasher safe but I am a giant skeptic and tell everyone I give a glass to that they should hand wash just to be safe!!}

Now some of you may remember the other wine glasses from the previous shower that had polka dots? Simple; at Michaels Arts and Crafts they have {by the stain glass paint} little jar of glass paint. Get a small {or whatever size you prefer} sponge brush and dab the paint on to the glass! AGAIN READ THE LABEL; because these do have a different curing time and temperature!!

There ya have it! I seriously did 35 of these within an hour! Once you get started you kind of get in a groove and start whipping them out!

Another tip which I might add later is that when you have the paint out for the polka dots dab it all over the bottom of the glass! It adds a nice little touch and a little more color!!

Well I hope this long awaited tutorial is everything you hoped for!! :)

Bridal Shower Sneak Peek!

We have been slacking on the blogging, but we have been planning a bridal shower; with a large guest list and large-r than life ideas! We cannot show you all the stuff because well the shower isn't until August 6th and lots of it is a surprise to the bride! So here is just a little preview of some of the things to come!

{Theme of the shower!}

We have so many decorations with this on it. Our theme is pink and orange with a very Princessy type ALL ABOUT THE BRIDE everywhere!!

I think every event I have ever had, birthdays, showers, weddings whatever it is I love to get the box set of invites from Target, Wal-Mart or Michaels and it is even better when they are on sale! The best part is they usually come with the invite and envelopes and also reply cards with envelopes! I love having the option of the reply cards because you can use them for registry cards or print maps to the venue. So many options, whatever you choose!

{Invitations and card with registry's listed}

Now I do know that it is proper etiquette to NOT mention where the couple is registered, but I will be honest I don't want everyone calling me asking me about the couple and where they are registered. Plus I love the idea of putting it on the small reply cards that way {I hope} guests can throw the small card in their purse and have it handy when they are shopping, because it has the couples name so they can go to the store and have the spelling of both names RIGHT THERE! Well I think that is what I would do!?

{The favors for the bridal shower!}

The real sneak peek is the wine glasses! The tutorial is coming soon! I know I have promised wine glass tutorial before and I honestly was about to post it until I got to the point where I realized the tutorial photos were on Shabby Wendy's camera at her house! So once I have them I will add it and FINALLY post the tutorial on personalized wine glasses!

This is just the tip of the iceberg and there is SO much more exciting stuff to come!!
